Rognlin's poured 300 yards of concrete this week, and will pour about 300 more on Monday--which will finish the grade beams prior to building the slab. They are also prepping the path to bring the new building utilities through to First St, as seen between the high school and current elementary building. #SB118 #newelementary

As of today, Rognlin's is completing the forms for the concrete grade beams. There will be approximately 500 yards of concrete in the grande beams, which will sit on top of the piling.

Locals may have realized the pile driving has stopped, that's because they are done! 177 piles installed, three days ahead of schedule. Rognlin's is now building forms for the concrete grade beams that will be poured around the piling. #SB118 #newelementary

Progress as of today. Contractors are pre-drilling "pilot" holes for the pile, for driving that will start tomorrow. Bus loop is built and base rock installed.

June 10, 2019: Ground Breaking

Today we had our official groundbreaking ceremony for the new South Bend Elementary School.  All students grades K-6 were in attendance in addition to teachers and staff.  Also in attendance:  Superintendent Jon Tienhaara, Principal Kresta Byington, Rep. Jim Walsh, Rep. Brian Blake, Mayor Julie Struck, Board Member Chuck Spoor, Board Member, Andy Seaman, Board Member Dave Eastham, Retired Superintendent Mike Morris, Gary Wilson, Wyatt Kuiken, Architect Ray Mow, and Rognlin's Superintendent Brandon Russell.
